Arizona is one of the few states that were seceded by Mexico after the Mexican war. Its most well known city is its capital of Phoenix where the manufacturing industry is in full swing and its population is a relatively large one of over 6.3 million residents. In addition to this some of the state’s leading commodities are dairy products, cotton, and cattle. One of the biggest dams in the world is also located in Arizona near Ajo called the New Cornelia Tailings. Some attractions that may interest tourist to the area include the famous Grand Canyon and the Painted Desert as well as the Hoover Dam and the Petrified Forest.
