Connecticut Insurance Information

All states in the Union legislate minimum auto insurance requirements; Connecticut is no exception. While many residents commute to neighboring states, many do not. Either way, both types of residents should ensure they have adequate and affordable car insurance. While basic insurance policies exist, they are not intended to be recommendations. Rather, these coverage levels serve as the baseline for motorist insurance plans. However, residents should weigh the minimum requirements against their needs to determine whether the basic coverage levels are sufficient.

  • Bodily injury per person: $20,000
  • Bodily injury for all persons: $40,000
  • Property damage coverage: $10,000
  • Uninsured or underinsured motorist: $20,000 per person/$40,000 per accident
