Hawaii Insurance Information

Hawaii is a relatively small island state that has a population of 1.3 million people.  It is also a no-fault insurance state. However, it is by no means lacking in drivers (and mandatory auto insurance laws). Traffic is atrocious on Oahu, the island with the vast majority of the population. Rail remains a hotly contested transport solution as the Islands Interstates (which traverse the island from military base to military base) are extremely congested.

The neighboring islands have their own infrastructure challenges, as the budget for transport is limited. However, for the most part, the relatively small population on Hawaii, Maui, Molokai, Lani and Kauai make the auto transit struggles manageable.

The number one industry for Hawaii is tourism with millions of people visiting the islands throughout the year.  In addition to this some of its main exports are pineapple and coffee beans as well as bananas and macadamia nuts.  The highest peak in the state is Mauna Kea at 13,796 ft and the Mauna Loa volcano that is located here is the largest in the world.  Some of the main attractions in Hawaii include the memorial at Pearl Harbor and the Waikiki Beach, both of which are stationed in its capital Honolulu.
