Montana is one of the biggest states in the Union at over one-hundred-forty-seven-thousand square miles; though its population of less than one-million makes it one of the most sparsely populated. The state gets its name from the Spanish word for mountain which is fitting given that the Rocky Mountain range runs through the Western half of the state. The largest county in the state is Yellowstone, which is the site of the nation’s leading National park. In addition, Glacier National Park is also located in wonderful Montana. With more than twenty-five glaciers and two-hundred lakes this park is magnificent for fishing, hiking and general good times.
