Texas is home to the nation’s largest highway infrastructures. The sheer magnitude of the size of the State has made this a necessity and the Texas Department of Transportation has its work cut out for it to keep the State’s public roadways in good repair. Their charge is to keep residents mobile through all types of weather and driving conditions as well as to look to the future for construction and infrastructure development projects to plan for the next generation of Texans. To keep the highways and other public roadways safe, the Texas legislature has enacted laws which mandate that drivers carry minimum auto insurance liability coverage.
